Diverging concepts of nature and human well-being - from theory to action
In this project we investigate a wide range of concepts of the human – “nature” relationship and how, in these concepts, nature/biodiversity are related to well-being. Hence, we compare concepts of biodiversity and nature from the global South and indigenous peoples with those more instrumental understandings that currently prevail in environmental policies. We will also look at the implications that the at least partial ignorance of traditional forms of knowledge and attitudes towards nature and biodiversity has in (official) development cooperation.
